Whoo!

Hello all, I am back (finally) after an enforced hiatus resulting from my lack of home internet thanks to a dodgy ISP (BT no less, grr...) which seemed to find doing its job and getting me connected the most difficult and convoluted process (if I hear the word "Escalate" just one more time I am going to scream) imaginable but thankfully that is all in the past now. Broadband resumes and I am a happy (and non-phimotic) bunny once more.

But being offline has given me some thinking time (an odd experience to start again after so long but a little like riding a bicycle) during which I have pondered this blog: since it was originally intended as a chronichle for my struggle with phimosis, a struggle which is now pretty much over and has been for quite a while now what purpose exactly does it serve?

As a resource to help others who are in similar situation to the one which I was in of course! There appear to be far too few websites informing people of this and far too many (even the official medical website of India!) spreading the nonsense that a total preputal amputation is neccessary to fix this pretty minor problem. So that is my new cause really, I have helped a few people out through email and even gave advice to an e-friend about a relative (which was somewhat unexpected) at one point.

So it feels good to be back, how ever did you lot cope without me?

Over a month without internet? Good lord, I go into withdrawal after 5 hours offline... But seriously - good to see your ISP has pulled it together.

You said "far too few" - what other websites are there that are anti-circumcision?

Not quite, I got it from other sources but generally not ones which would wish me to go about updating a blog about my penis.

LOL, I used to be that bad...

But seriously - good to see your ISP has pulled it together.

It is!

You seem to have misunderstood me, most of the sites in opposition to circumcision actually provide pretty accurate information about this. My problem is with mainstream medical websites which are designed to spread sound information but instead provide misinformation over this already oft misunderstood condition.

As for what sites there are well do not make me choose! There really are quite a few!

Some of the most popular are http://www.nocirc.org/ (which was the trailblazer really, the oldest and largest national organisation devoted to eliminating circumcision in America), http://www.noharmm.org/ (the young pretender) and http://www.circumcision.org/

Personal favourites of mine are http://www.circumstitions.com which is a website run by a meticulous New Zealand which has just about everything you could want to know, read or see concerning this issue in addition to plenty you probably do not. http://www.mothering.com/discussions/forumdisplay.php?f=44 is a Forum which is part of the Mothering Dot Commune and filled with lovely people (mostly mothers). And http://community.livejournal.com/theunkindestcut is another good community dedicated to combatting it.

Oh yes and let us not forget the CIRP: http://www.cirp.org/ Massive, meticulous, mournful.

Glad to have you back, you wanker. :P

*g* Glad to BE back! Thank you so much you slut, I have missed you loads.

Sadly, none that I know of.

But what more do you need? ;)

Thanks Seven!

You are more than welcome. I would ask how things were going but this is a bit too public a venue...

Hi! I’ve got phimosis and have been looking for resources ... do you have any advice? Right now, I can get the foreskin to retract just behind the head with a bit of lube, but it’s uncomfortable and constricting. With the progress it seems you’ve made, I thought you might have some advice?
