A jolt of shock and a glow of happiness. Today is a good day:

[Extract from The Times, Saturday 30th September's "Body&Soul" section]

"CIRCUMCISION FEAR

Out eight-yearoldson's foreskin will not pull back over the top of his penis. OGP says he will need to be circumcised, and that it is better to get it done soon. Is there an alternative?

James W. Macaulay, Cumbria

All boys are born with non-retractible foreskins. In the vast majority of boys, the foreskin will retract by puberty. There is a great deal of data suggesting that, most cases, boys have a retractible foreskin 4. But for some this won't happen until 5, 8, even 10 or 11, and this is nothing to worry about.

Don't be tempted to do anything to encourage the foreskin to retrac Eventually the adhesions holding the foreskin in place will begin to break down and it will gradually retract. It would, however, be reasonable to see a paeatric surgeon or paedaetric eurologist for advice. In the vast majority of cases the foreskin will, in time, retract naturally, without the need for surgical intervention."

Well thank goodness, that yet other GP was so hazardously incompetant worries me but that that this parent was set straight and perhaps many others through reading this articles reassures me.

It is truly shocking to note how many Doctors are so incompetent when it comes to dealing with phimosis, but at the same time I take note that at least this one article is on the mark. Well done Body&Soul!

I could not agree more. The Times has a very high readership, not sure if everyone reads those supplements but hopefully it got the message across to some at least.

Indeed! Still fairly flattered that you are a regular BTW... *g*

Just wanted to take this oppertunity to thank you for this blog. It's amazing how little information about this condition is available.
My family doctor gave me two option when I came to him: circumcision and a steroid cream, naturally I opted for the latter. When I decided to do a little investigating of my own I came across this site and your techniques in battleing this condition.
In my case I had a mild phimosis which gradually got worse. Sometimes when I had sex my foreskin would tear, over the years this led to my foreskin getting tighter, to the point where I am now, not being able to retract the foreskin over the head at all (although I've been using the cream for a week now, so it's a little better) and having sex is very painful. I'm going to try you methods to further my progress.
This condition can lead to some serious problems in my experience, having sex got gradually more painful to a point where I didn't want to have sex anymore which led to a serious relationship crisis. I didnt know what was causing the pain and my reluctance to talk about it with my partner was stupid and hurt her since she thought it was all her fault (she thought i didn't find her attractive anymore etc.etc.).
So in short, I just wanted to thank you for your work and want to encourage folks dealing with this condition to talk about it with their partners to avoid a lot of unneccesary pain and misunderstanding.

Oh and to satisfy your curiousity about Jesus's foreskin, there's actually 13 churches/religious institution in the world that claim to have the original article in their possesion. In one of those places, Calcata in Italy the foreskin was paraded through the streets of the village once a year on the day of the feast of circumcision. That tradition was held until the darn thing was stolen.
Well that's it, thanks and keep up the good work!

That sounds really tough. I am glad that things are improving though and please do let me know how they progress.

Since it sounds like you have a worsening case if those approached do not work then perhaps try and find a doctor who could give you a prepuplastory. That is a form of surgery but it seems a lot less severe that a full circumcision or a dorsal slit.

You are welcome, I am just glad to have been of some help and in all honesty I reckon it is something akin to a duty to inform people who are not knowledgable but are affected by this sort of thing.

It seems that many, even doctors, do not share this feeling though...

Which is a pity really because if they did then I might not have to bother.

LMAO! Brilliant.

I blame Opus Dei.

You are welcome! Thank you.

A quick update on me - I'm the guy who took a dig at your views on el Che ;)

I am now phimosis free!... well almost. I can now retract when erect, with comfort increasing daily. I found manual stretching as well as Beauge gave fairly rapid results, and I am enjoying them.

Seems I have uncovered a fairly short frenulem, unfortunatly (seems genital defects come in 3s?) but I have read that manual stretching can also cure this condition without surgery (and a frenuloplasty is a fairly minor surgery should i not be successful) but its a tad tricker!

Thanks for the inspiration, and keep up the good job.

Oh, hi there! In hindsight I was being a little harsh on him.

Whoo! Seriously, if you are comfortable and can wash properly then there is nothing to worry about here. Medically speaking inability to retract is the definition.

LOL, that has been my experience.

Cool! Well best of luck with that one, all I have heard about the frenuplastory is the same as what you said but if you can avoid it through more of the same (or at least similar) then that would be great. :)

Thanks for the inspiration, and keep up the good job.

Thanks for sharing! You are more than welcome.

You do not seem awkward or weird in the slightest! I was pretty suprised when I found out how easy it could be too! You're welcome.

That is what it exists for. *g*

Its amazing that these doctors haven't heard of a dorsal slit, a relatively minor surgery used to loosen the foreskin in extreme cases of phimosis. By the way i had and non-retractable foreskin until age 16, although i started masturbating when i was 12.

It just took some extra effort as the head of the penis was big. I used to pull the foreskin wider with my fingers or touching the inside of the foreskin with a finger wet with saliva and thus rubbing the head, then trying to pull it back over the head. It was fun but painful at times after a certain point i started to feel the pain. Also, i remember my parents trying to pull it back to wash the tip of my penis while giving me a bath when i was a small child. I continued doing that when i was old enough to shower on my own. Doing this may have loosened it enough to be retracted a quarter of the way back over the head. I really started worrying about not being able to retract it when i found out that most of my friends could do it without any problems. I started masturbating with a closed fist around the head and trying to pull it that way going slow at first and then faster, it finally came off one day and the smegma i had to clean wasn't fun, but when i touched it for the first time and put saliva on it, it was a whole new world of pleasure for me, not ot mention the fully exposed frenulum. Also, i have heard from a few sex educators that there are creams that you can use to loosen it.
